I highly recommend Elizabeth and the interview skills clinic. Elizabeth helped me prepare for an interview for a Civil Service Grade 6 role and the three sessions gave me the confidence and skills needed to get the job. As someone who has struggled with interviews in the past I now have the skills to confidently tackle senior Civil Service interviews for the years to come. Elizabeth has a complete understanding the civil service behaviours and interview format so it felt like getting insider knowledge which proved to be essential. Elizabeth is an outstanding interview coach whom I highly recommend. Her sessions helped me overcome insecurities as a non-native speaker working in higher education, boosting my confidence and highlighting my skills and abilities. Elizabeth’s calm and kind attitude helped me to stay grounded, but also guided me back to my strengths when I felt lost during the interview, ultimately leading to the attainment of my dream job. Elizabeth is a very supportive coach. I was applying for a Business Analyst role and within an hour of a second interview I was called back by the company to let me know that they really liked me and offered me the job. I thought I knew how to use the STAR approach before but Elizabeth has a unique interpretation of it and I was complimented on my response. What really helped me was the way she broke the STAR up for me in a way which was relevant to the role and sector I was going for. My interview felt much more like a conversation. I learnt a lot and feel so much more confident in interviews

After five years abroad,I decided to re enter the London job market. Having used Elizabeth's services before, I did not hesitate to contact her again. With her guidance and support I was successful in getting offers from multiple companies. Elizabeth is sincere and cares about her clients and their job satisfaction beyond the remit of her role as an interview coach, her many years of experience give her a discerning eye and she can predict in a very short space of time what her clients need and how to get them from A to B. I would recommend her wholeheartedly. She also goes out of her way to make time for her clients and is very punctual and organised.

Interview coaching with Matt was exactly what I needed. My skills were rusty and I'd lost confidence. I really liked Matt's direct but supportive approach. I was out of my comfort zone during the sessions (which was good!) but through practice my confidence grew and learning took place. I now have an excellent structure to work with for future interviews. I'm very grateful for Matt's help. Thank you.

I was feeling insecure in my communication skills when I met with Elizabeth for a mock interview. Her knowledge paired with her straightforward approach meant that in one hour we had covered a number of actionable insights that instantly boosted my confidence. I walked into the interview with a clear plan (and renewed belief in my competence) and dare I say I even enjoyed it! Thank you for doing what you do!

Matthew has been incredibly supportive and helpful throughout my application process (on multiple occasions. With his support, I was able to land my first civil service role. He put a lot of effort and enthusiasm into every session. His techniques were incredibly helpful and I have learnt skills that I will continue to use throughout my career. Couldn’t recommend more.

Elizabeth is a fabulous coach. Following her coaching, I had two coaching sessions I got a senior programme manager role in the Civil Service, it was a very complex role. I offered the job and I was told my interview was excellent!! Elizabeth gave me such detailed and insghtful feedabck I was able to reshape all my Behaviour answers and went into the interview feeling much more confident. Thank you Elizabeth

Elizabeth's coaching made a huge difference. I was struggling with getting a permanent role at the University despite knowing I had all the experience I needed. The interview was challenging with lots of situational questionsand I didn't know where I was going wrong. Elizabeth was able to demonstrate how to rephase my answers in a way which the Interviewers wanted. I had never done a UK Civil Service interview, and had never worked with a coach before - and I needed urgent help to prepare for an application. I found Mathew Eastlake during an online search and I had no idea what to expect. 4 sessions later I can honestly say it was probably the best investment of my life. Not only did Matt help me ace the interview and secure the role, but during our sessions I also learned so much more about my strengths and weaknesses. In just 4 sessions I learned how to focus my answers and present myself in the best possible way. I could not have gotten the role without Matt - that is the truth. Elizabeth really knows her stuff – she obviously has a lot of experience in dealing with civil service interviews of a variety of types and at a range of grades. Her knowledge and experience meant that I immediately trusted her judgement.
She took time to understand where I felt I had gaps but supplemented this with practice interview questions and it was obvious from her feedback that she was able to identify areas for development that I had previously not considered but which immediately rang true.
Her approach meant that I felt that I was getting genuine interview practice but with “in the moment” feedback and discussion which was invaluable and also beautifully delivered. Elizabeth was hugely supportive both within and outside of the sessions which was genuinely confidence building.
I have a job which is unpredictable and she was very flexible in finding both times and a medium that would work for me.
In the event, I was unexpectedly successful in my application. I recognised from the positive feedback some of the areas that we had worked on which was gratifying: I had measurable confirmation that seeking her advice had been absolutely the right choice. But, even if I hadn’t been successful, it would still have been the right thing to do because the added confidence that I now hold in going into interviews will be a benefit that lasts.

I have recently worked with Chista and Elizabeth and found the whole process extremely informative and supportive. Chista provided some really great insights into the drafting of my personal statement and application form which really helped me to understand and respond more effectively to the skill requirements outlined in the job description.
Equally, Elizabeth’s support in prepping for interview guided me in constructing answers that ensured I presented my experiences in the most effective way. Elizabeth’s feedback on a presentation that was part of the selection process was also invaluable and I went into the interview feeling confident and well prepared. Not only did I secure the position but I have come out of this experience armed with knowledge and frameworks that I can apply to any future positions that I go for.

I could not be happier with the help I was given by Chista. One of the best decisions I have made was to contact her, I have never felt so prepared for an interview before. Chista professional expertise was unmatched but on a personal level made me feel so confident in myself. One of my best decisions was to contact Interview Skills Clinic. Elizabeth was such a great help. The advice she gave me in focussing my experience to the Civil Service was invaluable. After finding out I had an interview within the Civil Service, I was at first a bit hesitant however, after being assigned Chista as my coach I had no reason to worry! Chista’s kind and caring approach really helped my confidence and allowed me to secure my first ever Civil Service job! I am very lucky to find the InterviewSkillsClinic! Genuinely, I cannot recommend working with the InterviewSkillsClinic enough! From the start to the end of the sessions!
First, I contacted Rebecca, and she organized a meeting with me immediately to understand my needs and helped me to plan my session with Elizabeth. Without Rebecca’s help and professional guidance, I think I could miss the chance to work with the InterviewSkillsClinic. I had three sessions, one of them with Elizabeth and two of them with Georgina. Before the sessions, Elizabeth and Georgina worked on the job advertisements I applied before and I got interview invitations to prepare for potential questions I would face during the interviews. They gave me time to prepare myself for the questions while using the star technique. In the first session, Elizabeth and I worked on the questions and my answers. After this session, I felt like ‘yes, I found the right coach for my interview preparation’. After Elizabeth’s session, I worked with Georgina. Before our session, first, Georgina watched my recorded session, which was with Elizabeth, and prepared additional questions to work on together. She helped me with my interview presentation preparation as well. I cannot explain her help enough. Both of them are highly professional and meticulous. Really pleased to say I had a fantastic experience doing interview coaching with Georgina. The sessions were entirely bespoke to my specific interviewing needs, and each session was able to cover a huge amount and also put it into practice with role play exercises. I highly recommend this service. I booked two sessions with Matt before my interview. The one week made a big difference and I got the job. Matt has been really supportive, encouraging and easy to work with. For each session he came in well prepared. He looked up specific requirements on my hiring institution’s website, details that would matter to the job but easily ignored by interviewees. I had only one interview coaching session with Mat and it was very useful. After having the coaching session I felt very confident in the video interview within civil service and passed it. One session was enough for me to pass the video interview. It really helped out a lot. He gave excellent advice for the interview that majority of people wouldn’t know about. These include going really indepth with the action within STAR. Explained the key terms and phrases that the hiring manager would be looking for. He gave me advice on scoring 6’s for the video interview. He explained all my weaknesses and told me everything I needed to work on. He’s very specialised within the civil service. Without him I wouldn’t have passed. I’m very grateful for his help and my investment paid off.

Understanding the intricacies of the CS success profiles takes time and following our time together I could sense you understood what they were looking for in your answers.
